Description
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation\Water Authority of Jordan (MWI/WAJ) through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing\Government Tenders Directorate (GTD) is soliciting expression of interest and submission of the pre qualification information for the EASTERN PRIMARY WATER TRANSMISSION PROJECT, ZATARY PUMP STATION AND ZATARY HOFA PIPELINE Project Contract No. 162/2006. The purpose of this Request for Qualification is to shortlist individual US contractors Prospective contractors must qualify based on their eligibility, required resources, financial capacity, and technical experience with projects of similar scope and magnitude as described in the pre-qualification documents. As a result of this exercise, the pre-qualified contractors will be invited to bid on the construction of the EASTERN PRIMARY WATER TRANSMISSION PROJECT, ZATARY PUMP STATION AND ZATARY HOFA PIPELINE. The project scope includes the supply, delivery, construction and commissioning of a new pump station at Zatary and a new pipeline extending from the new Zatary pump station to the existing reservoir at Hofa with specific components of the project consisting of: ? Construction of a new pump station at Zatary in Mafraq Governorate, including installation of pump station equipment. ? Construction of a control building at Zatary pump station ? Installation of the new Zatary pump station yard piping comprising a steel 1200 mm pump suction header and 1000 mm steel discharge header. ? Civil and landscaping works at the Zatary pump station site. ? Approximately 47,800 m of Ductile Iron Pipe pipeline and take-offs ranging in size from 700 mm to 1000mm diameter with air release valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, wash outs. ? General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) based telemetry system between the Zatary pump station and Hofa reservoir including intermediate control points. The Project is funded by a grant received from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Jordan. Prospective contractors interested in obtaining the pre-qualification document, at no cost, shall download the documents from the GTD web site mentioned below beginning on 22 November, 2006 at 0900 hours, Jordan local time. Prospective contractors shall notify the Chairman of the Central Tenders Committee, Director General, Government Tenders Directorate, Ministry of Public Work and Housing, 8th Circle, King Abdullah Street, Amman, Jordan, Tel: (962-6) 585-8311/14, Fax: (962-6) 585 7583, (962-6) 585 7639, Website: www.gtd.gov.jo , email biddings@gtd.gov.jo no later than 26 November, 2006 that they have downloaded the documents. Questions may be submitted by prospective contractors to GTD via fax or email not later than 3 December, 2006 close of business Jordan local time. The last date for submission of the pre-qualification Application will be no later than 1200 hours, Jordan local time on 28 December, 2006 at the offices of the GTD. A public opening to acknowledge receipt of the submission will be held at 1400 hours on the same date in the same venue. Please be advised that in the past some firms have experienced delays with international air courier services. These delays are not uncommon and normally a result of packages being held by customs. Qualification packages received after the closing date and time will not be accepted. In the event prospective contractors elect to utilize the service of an independent local courier to deliver the pre-qualification package, please be certain that he/she understands that the prospective contractor must submit their documentation to the above no later than the time and due date mentioned above. Issuance of the RFQ Questionnaire does not in any way obligate WAJ or the US government to award a contract nor does it commit the WAJ or the U.S. Government to pay for the cost incurred in preparation and submission of this qualification package.
