Description
UNCLASSIFIED ANNOUNCEMENT - Requisition No. W81WEW62890001001. Notice of Intent to Award. The Contracting Center of Excellence, on behalf of the Office of the U.S. Military Observers Group-Washington, intends to negotiate a Sole Source award with t he Back Country Driving School. The contractor will provide two each two-day courses on Basic Off-Road Driver Training with an Intro to Land Navigation  to be held in the months of December 2006 and June 2007. Training topics will include: understandi ng high center of gravity vehicle dynamics, basic 4x4 driving on unimproved roads gravel, dirt, and trails. Basic recovery techniques will include but not limited to operation of manual and automatic transmission 4x4 vehicles in off-road conditions, negot iating obstacles, rocks, logs, mud, steep ascents, steep descents, side hills, water, single and multi vehicle recovery techniques, manual recovery equipment, tow straps, hi-lift jacks, off-road towing, basic winch operation, basic land navigation with the use of maps, compass and GPS for civilian 4x4 vehicles for use by military and law enforcement in remote terrain and foreign theaters of operation. Contractor will provide all vehicles, training materials and Textbooks. The notice of intent is not a req uest for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete for the proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received to this notice is for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a co mpetitive procurement. There is no solicitation document and no RFP available for competitive proposals. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by 9:00 a.m. 14 Nov 2006.
