Description
General Information: Type: Special Notice Posting Date: November 8, 2006 Event Date: January 17, 2007 Registration Deadline: December 08, 2006 Registration URL: www.cyber.st.dhs.gov/siforum Contracting Office Address: Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate Washington DC 20528 Description: 1. The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate invites system integrators and government sponsors of information systems projects to attend the DHS S&T System Integrator Forum (SIF) on January 17, 2007, at 1100 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 2800 (28th floor), Arlington, VA 22209, or a similar location, from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The event will showcase several new cyber security solutions funded by the DHS S&T that aim to remediate Federal and commercial cyber security vulnerabilities. 2. The goal of the DHS S&T System Integrator Forum is to introduce high-quality, top-performing research companies to large integrators of technology who serve the Federal Government and private industry. Each of the presenting technology developers have completed cyber security technology development projects funded under DHS Broad Agency Announcements (BAA) or Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) programs. They have been selected for participation in the SIF based upon the maturity of their technology solution, relevance to government needs, the apparent commercial viability of their approach, and their business leadership. These technology solutions represent cutting-edge innovations with the potential to improve the security of the nation's cyber-infrastructure, while also reducing the costs required to protect cyber assets from attacks. 3. Those interested in attending the DHS S&T System Integrator Forum should represent an information services company that specializes in integrating information systems and corresponding security capabilities that meet Federal Government and private industry requirements. The SIF is the ideal venue for system integrators, chief technology officers, chief information officers, chief information systems security officers, purchasing decision-makers, and government sponsors of system integration programs to learn about opportunities to integrate capabilities resulting from DHS S&T?s efforts to further developments in cyber security technology. The event is NOT a venue for researchers or small businesses seeking funding or networking opportunities. 4. The DHS reserves the right to modify the agenda until the date of the event, but the forum may include the following presentations: a. Next generation intrusion detection and prevention systems designed to stop zero-day, targeted, and internal network attacks. b. Source code analysis solutions to eliminate costly errors in open source applications. c. Secure memory monitoring products to detect and remediate sophisticated kernel attacks, e.g. Rootkits, as well as compliance monitoring. This includes centrally managed low assurance software and high assurance hardware implementations. d. Devices for auditing and investigating electronic transactions that provides reliable proof of transaction content without compromising privacy, degrading public key infrastructure, or interfering with applications. e. Change Control solution protects critical infrastructure from outages caused by change or security-related incidents. f. A Vulnerability and Compliance Assessment System which improves the security, availability, and compliance of IP networks through non-intrusive analysis of device configurations. 5. The event is free of charge. 6. Register for the DHS System Integrator Forum by December 8, 2006, by visiting http://www.cyber.st.dhs.gov/siforum. Space is limited. 7. This announcement is not a request for proposal.
