- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIAL QUALIFIED SOURCES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY FOR THE U.S. ARMY MEDICAL MATERIEL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY (USAMMDA), FORT DETRICK, MARYLAND. USAMRIID is seeking a Contract Research Organization (CRO) to conduct the enclosed Statement of Work. However, this announcement is not a formal solicitation and is not a request for proposal. No contract wil l be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made of any costs to provide information in response to this announcement or any follow up information requests. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced under a separate anno uncement. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Each response must reference the sources sought title. All proprietary information should be marked as such. Responses w ill be held confidential if requested. Responses must be received no l ater than 27 November 2006, by 4:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. STATEMENT OF WORK Schedule and Requirements for the Preparation of Antisera against Recombinant PA Protein in Rabbits 1. Purchase of 74 New Zealand White rabbits (37 female and 37 male) at 2.7-3.1 kg each. Rabbits will be identified with a unique identifier. 2. Pre-bleed 74 rabbits. 3. Primary (1?) intramuscular (IM) injection of 74 rabbits at week 0 according to the table. 10 rabbits injected with 10 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel 10 rabbits injected with 1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel 40 rabbits injected with 0.1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel 10 rabbits injected with 0.01 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel 4 rabbits injected with PBS/Alhydrogel 4. Bleed rabbits for 5 ml of serum (test bleed) after primary injection according to schedule in the table. Total of 134 bleedings. 5. Booster (2?) IM injection of 74 rabbits at week 2, 4, 12, or 24 according to the schedule in the table. At week 2; inject 10 rabbits with 10 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel inject 10 rabbits with 1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel inject 10 rabbits with 0.1 ?g rPA/Alhydrogel inject 10 rabbits with 0.01 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel inject 4 rabbits with PBS/Alhydrogel. At week 4; inject 10 rabbits with 0.1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel. At week 12; inject 10 rabbits with 0.1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel. At week 24; inject 10 rabbits with 0.1 ?g of rPA/Alhydrogel. 6. Production bleed (~25 ml) rabbits two weeks after the booster injection according to the schedule in the table. Total of 74 bleedings. After the production bleed, rabbits will be euthanized. 7. Approximate length of time rabbits will be on study; 44 rabbits for 30 days 10 rabbits for 44 days 10 rabbits for 100 days 10 rabbits for 184 days Table 1.
