- ?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. MARKET SURVEY - SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this sources-sought announcement as part of a market survey for enhanced/medium range 600m (T) and 800m (O) 40MM ammunition that can be safely and effectively employed from a shoulder fired grenade launcher. The ammunition must be compatible with the 40mm Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module (EGLM) either in stand alone configuration or as mounted in modular fashion to the Special Operations Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR). A range increase is sought from the current 40mm low velocity ammunition performance (300-400 meters) to a range of approximately 600m (T) to 800m (O). The round sought must operate in all Special Operations Forces environments to include submersion to 66 feet in seawater. The round must be capable of a minimum range of 600m with increased accuracy over current 40MM low velocity ammunition utilized in the M203. The government is also seeking information on the availability of airburst/programmabl e ammunition for use in the EGLM as well. Any responses to this notice should include the following: company name, brief description of company capabilities, experience areas, history. Respondents are requested to provide availability information on this enhanced capability and stage of development/Technology Readiness Level along with in-house test data if available. If possible, it is requested that pricing information for the following quantities: 100-1000, 1001-5000, 5001-20,000, 20,001-50,000 and over 50,000 +. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture the 40MM ammunition. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate the ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. Interested companies who feel they possess the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the Government the following information; point of conta ct, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, duns number, cage code and or tax ID number, as well as size category (large, small, small disadvantaged, etc) a brief summary of the company's capabilities, description of facilities, personnel, related manufacturing experience, and existing safety approvals. Also provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must meet these criteria.
