Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision to perform replacement/rehabilitation work of the Tinkers Creek Aqueduct within the boundaries of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Cuyahoga County, Valley View, Ohio. The work shall consist of the demolition of an existing wood and metal pedestrian towpath trail bridge and aqueduct spanning Tinkers Creek and the construction of a new wood and metal pedestrian Towpath Trail bridge and a temporary pipe aqueduct. The construction of these new facilities shall be at the approximate same location as the demolished structures. To facilitate the construction of these appurtenances, the following ancillary hydraulic work shall also be performed: an earthen berm shall be constructed along Canal Road, a riser pipe and spillway shall be constructed to route water and stormwater flow from the portion of the canal into Tinkers Creek and an emergency spillway shall be constructed through the Towpath Trail. Other work to be performed includes: the construction of a temporary Towpath Trail with jersey barrier protection adjacent to Canal Road, the removal and adjustment of specific sandstone blocks comprising the existing bridge abutments, the repointing of joints, excavation and fill placement activities, clearing and grubbing, restoration of the Towpath Trail, revegetation of all areas disturbed and other tasks as required to complete the work as shown on the drawings. The project performance period is 200 days after issuance of the notice to proceed. The NAICS code is 237110. The small business size standard is $31.0 million. The estimated price range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The solicitation with specifications, drawings, bid schedule, and wage rates, will be posted to the websites http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about December 1, 2006.
