- I. INTRODUCTION. A. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Parts 12.6 and 13, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. B. The combined synopsis and Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is: TARRES01007 C. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-09, effective 19 MAY 06 D. The North American Industrial Code System (NAICS) code applicable to this acquisition is 333999, with a number of employee standard size of 500 for small business qualification. E. Basis for award The US Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command intends to negotiate solely with Geosystems INC, CAGE Code 1PUT5. Please see FedBizOpps Numbered Notes, note 22. II. GENERAL. A. The United States Army Tank and Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren, Michigan has a requirement for the following device; Teleoperated mobile robot designed to carry remote controlled inspection cameras and sensors in hostile environments in complete safety for the operator. Robot has the unique ability to lift the camera, or sensors, up to 8 feet high using the newly patented Zipper Mast. The robot can be equipped with smoke or tear gas and is compatible with a RFID tagging or passive tagging device that can only be detected with a special lens. The robot's small size and low weight allows it to operate in most dif ficult access areas. The unit has eyepiece options to allow soldiers to operate in a covert manner. The Cable Management Systems (CMS) allows for camera/sensors to be attached to the top of the mast. Power, video, communications is provided at the top o f the Zipper Mast. This ability to extend and retract cameras and other equipment remotely allows the G-BOT to enter a space and slide under obstacles and view from beneath or extend on demand and view over obstacles, into cars, trunks, or barriers. B. Submittal Instructions. Quotations shall be submitted electronically to loyd.beal@tacom.army.mil . Quotations shall be in English (American Standard) language and denominated in U.S. dollars. Quotations shall also include shipping (FOB Destination) and delivery schedule (requested delivery within 14 days after award). In the event that we select your quotation for award, we will send out a contract incorporating the above terms & conditions, and particulars of your quotation. TACOM reserves the right to seek clarification on any aspect of your quotation. C. This acquisition is unrated under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS). D. Quotations must be received by TACOM no later than 1:00 P.M EST, 01 December 2006. Email quotations to loyd.beal@tacom.army.mil .
