Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport anticipates modifying contract N66604-05-C-3724 with Millitech, LLC, Northampton, MA to Implement, Integrate and Test a Three Channel Rotary Joint to replace the existing two channel train axis rotary joint in Submarine High Data Rate (SubHDR). The effort includes tasking to improve existing Super High Frequency (SHF) performance and to integrate the optimized X-band feed developed by Millitech into a SubHDR Antenna Pedestal Group (APG). Additional tasking includes design, integration and testing support for route cause failure analysis of the APG. A Cost Plus Fixed Fee, term type contract is the anticipated contract type. The period of performance will be from the effective date of the modification through 2007 Sep 30. This sole source acquisition is based on the contractor's knowledge of the APG, as sole proprietor to the APG drawings and test procedures and on the X-band feed that it developed and must now be integrated into the APG design. See note 22. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
