Description
The Coast Guard has a requirement for all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC WEDGE (WLR 75407), 75 FOOT ?D CLASS? RIVER BUOY TENDER AND 90 FOOT BARGE. This solicitation is restricted to small businesses only. The work will be performed at the vessels homepier located in Demopolis, AL. The performance period is for 28 days, commencing on or about March 05, 2006 and ending April 2, 2006. This solicitation is restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States. The ?Western Rivers? means the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the waterways within the jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to navigation facilities as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the ?Western Rivers? but specifically exclude unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borgne, and the Gulf of Mexico; 01 November to 15 March south of the Melvin Price Lock and Dam. This work is such as, but not limited to: Clean Shipboard Galley, Scullery, and Laundry Ventilation Systems, Preserve and Welding Repairs, Clean Sewage Holding Tank, Perform Spud System Maintenance, Perform Boat Davit Maintenance, Perform Capstan Maintenance, Perform Buoy Crane Maintenance, Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems, Reseal Cosmetic Polymeric Deck Covering Systems, Renew Deck Covering Systems, Clean, and Inspect Exhaust Stacks, Renew Windows in Various Compartments, Renew Structural Closures, and Perform Head and Stern Winch Maintenance. The solicitation and specification will be issued on or about 11/30/06. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
