Description
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requirement for an engineering change to the AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar. The engineering change will correct a deficiency to decrease excessive radiated emissions (RE 102) in the radar, identified during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development program. The AESA prime integrator is McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 83166-0516. The Navy anticipates negotiating and awarding the engineering change as a sole source firm fixed price modification to the AESA Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract with MDC. Award of the original LRIP contract was made with authority under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The expected period of performance is one year from date of award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement in response to this notice. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. No phone calls will be accepted. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DOD activity. A determination not to compete these proposed engineering changes based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Inquiries for subcontracting are to be directed to MDC at 314-777-9377. Any questions regarding this synopsis should be sent via e-mail to Christy.Schumacher@navy.mil before 19 January 2007. See Number Note 22.
