Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, intends to award on a sole source basis a Firm Fixed Price contract to Chesapeake Sciences Corporation, for the supply of a Miniature Fiber Optic Array (MFOA). The MFOA will be used to test a prototype miniature fiber hydrophone core provided by the Government. Chesapeake Sciences is the only company capable of meeting our requirement because they have developed proprietary array construction techniques for fiber optic hydrophone arrays that provide proven array reliability, low array self-noise under tow, and low optical telemetry fiver noise. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
