Description
COATING REMOVAL ON AIRCRAFT PARTS Looking for Sources in the Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo, Colorado area who can perform coating removal on aircraft parts using TURCO 5668 Chemical process. One year contract with potential for several option years. Coating must be removed from aircraft parts of a wide variety of geometries. For simplicity these can be group in three categories; long slender parts, panels, and bulk parts. 1. Long slender parts are typical of wing spars. Based on typical aircraft geometries the longest spar would be about 37 feet long however, it is expected this piece would need to be sectioned into a more manageable size. Therefore, the slender part geometry can be considered to be approximately 4 feet long. 2. Some panel geometries have dimensions as large as 10.25 feet. Here again, in order to make parts more manageable panels can be assumed to be sectioned to dimensions of approximately 5 feet long by 3 feet wide. 3. Bulk parts include a wide variety of fittings. These parts can be assumed to fit within a 3 foot by 2 foot by 1 foot envelope. 4. The stripping system needs to be set-up and operational as soon as possible. 5. Parts for stripping will be provided by the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Stripped parts will be returned to the USAFA. 6. If you are interested and can perform this coating removal process using TURCO 5668 Chemical process, please contact contact Michael Fredericks at 10MSG/LGCB for more information 719-333-2849 or michael.fredericks@usafa.af.mil no later than 19 January 07.
