Description
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. 3rd , Walla Walla, WA 99362 intends to negotiate a single source contract in accordance with FAR 13.101(b)(1) to Kinemetrics, Inc of 222 Vista Ave, Pasadena, CA 91107. The Government inten ds to purchase 3-model ES-T  Surface Triaxial Force Balance Accelerometer and 1-spare Internal EpiSensor Deck. These items are required to upgrade the existing seismic equipment at Lucky Peak Dam near Boise, ID. The Epi-Sensors will replace the outdate d FBA-23, designed to work with the existing Altus K2. The Altus K2 is a self contained, multi-channeled digital recorder that monitors dam movement in the event of an earthquake. The Epi-sensors will be located where the FBA 23 is currently located on L uck Peak Dams outlet manifold building and can remotely be changed in the field. These units are compatible with and will be used with the existing Altus K2 system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by January 23, 2007, at 2:00pm PST will be considered by the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Proposals must provide a bility of the firm to perform the required analysis. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. In order to comply with the Debt collection improvement act of 1966, a ll contractors must be registered in the central contractor registration (CCR) to be considered for an award of a Federal contact. For information regarding registration in CCR, contact the CCR website at www.ccr.gov.index.cfm. This award is intended for small business concerns. For NAICS code 334519, small business size standard is 500 employees.
