Description
VENDOR: <U>This is a Sources Sought Synopsis only.</U> The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking sources capable of providing data on Worker's Compensation Benefits, Coverage, and costs. Data must be presented in three tables in a Microsoft Excel format, a program summary, program highlights and a research paper. The three tables will include data pertaining to Worker's Compensation, Table 9.B1.- Coverage, benefits, and costs, 1940-2005; Worker's Compensation, Table 9.B2.- Benefits, by state: 1997-2005; and Worker's Compensation, Table 9.B3.- Type of insurer and medical benefits, by state, 2005. Tables must also be updated annually to include data from the previous calendar year. The file will contain comprehensive estimates of worker's compensation costs for each State by the type of insurer, including private insurance carriers, State funds, federal programs, and self-insurers. The file will also contain estimates of the number of workers covered by worker's compensation, the size of the covered payroll, the cost per employee covered and the costs per $100 of covered payroll and the best available estimates of the number of workers receiving worker's compensation benefits in each State and the District of Columbia. The program summary and program highlights will include updated information to the Workers Compensation Program Summary and Program Highlights contained in the published in the prior year's Annual Statistical Supplement, 2006 to the Social Security Bulletin that includes workers compensation data through 2004 based on data in the three tables with year 2005 data, along with annually updated data thereafter. Along with the Microsoft Excel file, a written description of the estimation techniques employed, including any idiosyncrasies in the data must be provided. The contractor must also be available to meet with SSA staff in Baltimore, Maryland to discuss the data files and to respond to any questions about the data. The contractor must be able to provide all personnel, materials, supplies, and services required to support the development of the data file and written products such as the description of the estimate techniques employed. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis only. Therefore, this is not intended as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to reimburse for any information or materials submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. No contract award will be made on the basis of the responses received. Responses should be submitted to the Social Security Administration (SSA) on or before 5:00 P.M. EST 01/17/2007. Electronic responses are preferred and can be sent to the following Contract Specialist: <U>Kevin.Muniz@SSA.gov</U> in the Office of Acquisition and Grants. The size limitation for email attachments is 5 megabytes. MS Word 2002 is the standard word processing software.
