Description
Red River Army Depot,Texarkana,TX is soliciting interested sources who have the capability, engineering background, and experience to provide turnkey robotic solutions for four projects. The projects are (1) Robotic Material Handlers for Injection Mo lding Press Line. The current process of loading and unloading roadwheels into injection molding presses is presently done by an operator using a jib hoist in conjunction with a pick and place mechanical load arm. The primary goal is to improve all aspect s of loading/unloading the injection molds by elimination of manual material handling, reduction of material handling time between the load/unload machine cycle, and improvement of the flow of product through the equipment. A secondary project objective i s to use the robot to orient and assemble M1 Abram Tank wear flanges with the cured roadwheels. (2)Robotic Cell to Prepare and Apply Adhesive to Roadwheels. The existing equipment process line requires two rubber workers to stamp ID numbers into the wheels , sand(garnet) blast the surface of the wheels, and spray the wheels with primer and top coat metal to rubber bonding adhesive. The goal of this project is to replace the two operator with a single operator whose only function is to maintain the spray equi pment and monitor system operation. The proposed robot cell will be U shaped with the robot located to reach an automated blast booth, preheat oven, and spray booth. (3)Robotic Material Palletizer for the T-107 Disassembly Line. The T-107 disassembly lin e is used to remove center guides, wedge bolts, end connectors, and to break the track rolls into single links weighing 65 pounds each. A robotic material handler will be used to remove links from the end connector removal equipment and place them on a pal let for transport to the fluidized bed. The primary goal of the new robot cell will be the elimination of manual material handling. A secondary project objective is the incorporation of the robotic material hnadling function with a complete system upgradin g to increase throughput. (4)Robotic Adhesive Application for Track Shoes. Pallets of track shoes are delivered to the spray booth by forklift. A new process is being considered that uses a robot positioned upside down above the pallets of track shoes to apply the adhesive. The robot will travel over the pallets on rails from one end of the booth to the other end. A secondary project objective under consideration is automating pallet movement through the spray booth. Please respond by letter or email indi cation your capability to meet these requirements, and a desire to be considered in future acquisitions of this nature. E-mail to you respond to rose.m.spearman@us.army.mil,or fax to (903) 334-4141 to Ms. Rose Mary Spearman.
