Description
The Navy intends to procure on a sole source basis, forty (40) each fifteen (15) meter Antenna Masts Part Number BSM2-M-M215-JBS-000 from Bluesky Mast, Inc. 1202 W North B St. Tampa, FL 33606, to support currently deployed 500-foot sloping V long wire antennas. The antenna masts are required to provide continuous-uninterrupted communication capabilities by securing various antennas which transmit and receive signals. It has been determined that only the above described Bluesky antenna mast meets all of the Governments requirements and avoids duplication of logistical related costs related to designing new cases and drawings, re-create user documentation, revise training packages, and managing and maintaining associated inventories for more than one equipment type. The masts need to be flexible and strong enough to support the AS-2259, COM-201, DC-80 and DC-190 antennas. The mast system must include; aluminum/stainless steel/Delrin Tripod, winch, cable for winch, mast adapters to affix all of the antennas and Honeywell Guys Spectra 1000. The mast must be be lightweight (tripod, mast sections, and all accessories comprising the mast must weigh no more than 70 pounds and must be one person deployable and 1 person portable) be delivered in a durable rollaway bag making for easy transportation and storage. It must be flexible enough to bend without breaking, thus preventing a catastrophic failure, even in extreme conditions. In situations when useable deployment area is limited, such as wooded areas or mountainous terrain, the mast must be capable of deploying, per mast, up to 4 antennas (up to 50 pounds) on a winching assembly. Due to the broad range of deployable theaters of operation, the mast must be impervious to sandy and salt/fog conditions and therefore require sealed mechanisms and 100% corrosion free components. No telephone responses will be accepted.
