Description

Amendment is issued to provide questions and answers received. Closing date remains 26 Jan 07. Q1. Are there any statistics on previous use and projected use (gallons used, miles treated, etc.)? If so how can they be obtained? A1. Average over last several years has been about 45 acres (or about 12 miles of trail) treated per year. Q2. The minimum application rate for the iso-alkane is listed as 1 gallon per 20 sq.ft. What is the minimum application rate for the Soil-Sement and for what type of application site? A2. 1 gal per 32 sq ft Q3. Why is a cure time of 4 hours required for the iso-alkane since iso-alkanes never cure? A3. This just refers to the length of time before vehicles can drive on the surface without damaging the surface or getting the product on the vehicle. Q4. The solicitation states the contractor shall be capable of supplying quantities ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 gallons of product at a time. Does this mean that each time (each service/treatment) there will not be less than 10,000 gallons of product applied? If not, what is the minimum so we can better calculate our minimums for mobilization each time. A4. Applications are usually twice per year (during breaks in military training) with each being about half the total (see question 2 above). Some specially requested applications have been around 10,000, but most of our typical applications are around 40 ,000 to 50,000 at a time.
