- THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO EXTEND THE DUE DATE TO 30 JAN 07 AT 3:00PM EST AND ADD BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION. IAW FAR Part 11.105, Items Peculiar to One Manufacturer, a Brand Name Justification Letter has been approved for this acquisition for the purchase of a Permaswage Kit only. The Swaging Tool Kit contains the basic hardware and accessories to install swage fittings on A-10 aircraft. It includes 5 kits for installation, DLT05SKT3001 for sizes -03, DLT05PSKT3000 for sizes -04, DLT10PSKT3001 for sizes -05, DLT10PSKT3000 for sizes -06, DLT20PSKT3000 for sizes -08, -10, DLT30PSKT3000 for sizes -12, DLT40PSKT3000 for sizes -16, -20, -24. Includes accessories, chipless cutter, inspection gage, insertion marking tool, marking pen and manual reciprocation pump. The Aircraft Structural Maintenance Shop requires this to repair, manufactured A-10 aircraft hydro tube assemblies. Technical Order 1-1A-8 Para. 13.16.4, Description of Requred Permaswage Equipment lists the DLT series repair kits as required kit. DMC is the only approved manufacturer of this specific equipment. Due to the ongoing mission at Pope AFB, and the current deployment, this equipment is necessary in order to ensure aircraft at home station are mission capable. Designed Metal Connections (DMC) is the only approved manufacturer of equipment used for the installation of Permaswage repair fittings. These fittings are used quite extensively throughout the entire A-10 hydro system.
