Description

This requirement is for the Department of the Army, Texas Army National Guard. The contracting agency is the National Guard Bureau, United States Property and Fiscal Office for Texas, 2200 West 35th Street, Camp Mabry Austin, TX 78703-1222. The Army National Guard (ARNG) is seeking a contract with Proserv Crane & Equipment dba Proserv Anchor Crane Group, who is a large business, for the design/build and installation of an additional 5 ton crane with extensions to the current existing runway systems. The original contract was performed and completed by Anchor Crane and a follow on was completed by the same company in the last few years. This particular request is to design and install an add-on crane and extension to the existing runs and equipment w hich is follow-on for highly specialized equipment including major components thereof. The new addition and runs must be installed on the existing Anchor Crane components and additional tests will be required in order to receive an additional warranty for the new additions. Proserv is currently providing the warranty and the service on the other components and if a different contractor begins work the original warranty will be voided on the existing. Authority Cited - 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) or 41 U.S.C 25 3 (c)(1); FAR 11.105, Items peculiar to one manufacturer; FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements paragraph (2) (C) (ii) Supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original s ource in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system or highly specialized equipment, including major components thereof, when it is likely that award to any other source would result in  (A) Substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. This office is anticipating an award to made on or about 15 February 2007.
