Description
The purpose of this amendment is to address the following questions received from potential offerors. Question 1: Will the fire protection system be connected to a building fire alarm panel exterior of the shielded enclosure? Answer 1: The system wil l be connected to the building fire alarm system exterior to the shielded enclosure. Question 2: Where is the preference for the gas fire suppression tanks to be located, inside or outside the enclosure? Answer 2: The preference is for the fire suppression tanks to be located outside the enclosure. Question 3: Is there a requirement to provide automated dampers on all vents that will close should the fire system be activated? Answer 3: There is a requirement to provide automated dampers on all vents, should the fire system be activated. Question 4: Reference the drawing, please indicate the north wall and an approximate location of the installed transformer we will be responsible to connect the 100amp service to the Power filter. Answer 4: The north wall of the enclosure is located on the right hand side of the drawing. The side with F19 marked on the drawing. The transformer will also be located on the building wall close to the F19 filter. Question 5: Per the description, pipe penetrations will be located in the RF shielded floor under the computer floor. Is there a concrete trench that will allow for these pipes to extend under the RF shielded Floor? If so what are the dimensions of the trench? We need to ensure adequate support under the RF shielded Floo r to support common floor loading. Answer 5: This enclosure will be placed on solid concrete floor. There are no trenches only a 4-inch conduit out of the 12-inch concrete floor. A PDF file showing how the 4-inch conduit will be placed in the concrete i s availabe upon request from the Contract Specialist at martha.robles@arl.army.mil. There will be 4-inch concrete above the 4-inch conduit and 4-inch concrete below the conduit. Question 6: Reference 100 amp power panel, does it require a main breaker? If so, is it in the box or remote? It is not possible to buy a 100 amp panel with 42 breaker slots. Max amount is 24 breakers. Is this acceptable? What quantity of 20 amp and 30 amp breakers is required? Answer 6: The 100 amp power panel does require a main breaker, in the box. A 24 breaker box is acceptable. We require 18 each 20 Amp breakers and 6 each 30 amp breakers. Question 7: NEMA 1 box---what is function of this box? Is it for a disconnect circuit or a distribution box? More info is needed. Answer 7 : The NEMA 1 Box is for a disconnect circuit.
