Description
The BIA is currently planning to award a contract for Asaayi Dam Modifications. The project consists of stream diversion, excavation, and rock blasting, an embankment raise, concrete spillway construction, HDPE outlet works sliplining and intake structure replacement, installation of a 266 foot long prefabricated bridge and minor mechanical and electrical components. The worksite is located approximately 70 miles northwest of Gallup, New Mexico, and approximately 35 miles northeast of Window Rock, Arizona, in McKinley County, New Mexico. Assayi Dam is located on Bowl Creek. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on February 21, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., (local time) at the Red Lake Chapter House, Red Lake, New Mexico. There will be a tour of the Asaayi Dam Site following the meeting. Bidders are strongly urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. Interested bidders are requested to submit a written request to obtain the bid package either by mail or by facsimile, Fax No. (505) 863-8382, Attention: Lynelle Benallie, Contract Specialist. Twenty-five (25) sets of bid packages will be available on a first come, first serve basis until the supply is exhausted. Telephone requests to obtain the bid package will not be accepted. Technical inquiries must be submitted in writing ten (10) days before the bid opening date. Bid opening date is scheduled at 2:00 P.M. (local time), March 15, 2007, at BIA, Navajo Regional Office, 301 W. Hill Ave., 3rd Floor Conference Room No. 342, Gallup, New Mexico 87301. All responsive bids from responsible bidders will be considered. Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Faxed copies of the Invitation for Bids will not be accepted. A map will be included in the bid package for directions to Red Lake Chapter House. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is planning a firm, fixed-price construction contract. This is a full and open competition acquisition. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
