Description

SUBJECT NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The Department of Treasury, Financial Management intends to award a sole source contract for services to perform at 3700 East West Highway in Hyattsville, MD. The period is for Base Year plus (3)12-month Option Periods from the date of award. The award will be for two existing 1600 KVA Prime duty backup power supply systems. These systems are critical to the continuity of computer operations in the Hyattsville Regional Operations Center. The systems consist of Detroit Diesel engines, induction couples, and 1600 KVA generators. These components are in two separate containers and are located behind the PF Metro II building. Additional components are the Unite Control Panels (UCP), switch gear and choke panels which are located in the basement UPS room also at 3700 East West Highway. All components were supplied by and are under warranty with Hitech Power Protection, Inc. (HPP) and warranty service will be performed by HPP. FMS has a requirement to have the HPP backup power supply system covered under a Preventive Maintenance/Extended Warranty Contract to include round the clock emergency service in the event that one or both of the systems are off line due to a failure in one or more components. Services under this award consist of Inspection, Testing, Repair and Quarterly Maintenance. Statutory authority for this sole source award is Title 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1 as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.
