Description

SOURCES SOUGHT. This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for a proposal therefore no bids or proposals are being solicited or accepted and at this time there is no definitive date as to when a request for proposal will be issued . Capital District Contracting Center on behalf of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) seeks qualified businesses capable of converting over four million paper documents and images to a password secured searchable database. In addition this effo rt involves developing and growing the AFIP digital pathology repository by adding additional cases and images to the previously created collection of images which will allow quick and accurate access by authorized personnel; developing the on-line distrib ution network that will provide electronic images and associated case materials as part of AskAFIP and the AFIP distance learning initiative; and assisting the government to develop a Tissue Microarray (TMA) program. The contractor will provide data stora ge and cyber-security. This sources sought notice is for market research purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. It does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All fir ms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this s ources sought. Interested parties are to email their companys name and address and a brief description of their capabilities to sabrina.bastine@us.army.mil by 12 noon on 5 February 2007. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps a nd even if you respond to this notice it is still your responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.
