- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. A Solicitation is not available at this time - This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for a SPEECH PATHOLOGIST INTERMITTENT TEMP STAFFING SERVICES for coverage of any UNSCHEDULED ABSENCES of the current 1.0 FTEE VA Staff Speech Pathologist, located at the VA San Diego Healthcare System, 3350 La Jolla Village Drive. The North American Industry Classification System Codes (NAICS) that may apply are either: 621340 (Offices of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists and Audiologists Size Standard: $6.5 million) or NAICS 621111 ( Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists) Size Standard $9 million) or NAICS 561320 (Temporary Help Services Size Standard $12.5 million). ****Small Business will have preference in selection over any large business, with Service Connected Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Veteran Owned, Woman Owned, Disadvantaged, status having preferences. Please identify your status when responding with your information.*** VA is seeking response from any qualified, currently licensed business that can provide commercial, Non-Personal Staffing Services in Temp Speech Pathology at the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, starting sometime in February or March 2007. VA may consider hire of individual after contracted service ? please clearly note any of your policies that would block or complicate this action. The following shows essential position information: Must be able to respond to VA San Diego within 48 hrs or less when called. May work only 1 day, or up to 2 ? 3 weeks coverage when called. No guarantee of more than 2 weeks a year. Position requires Masters or PhD in Speech Pathology, License, Certification, BLS, etc. Must be trained and have experience in endoscopic exams, vocal/bedside swallow function exams/modified barium videofluoroscopy with interpretation, fiberoptic endoscopic exam of swallow function (FEES) study - majority of work DISPHAGIA patients, additionally videostroboscopy exam of vocal function & ability to manage patients with speaking valves - make diet recommendations to prevent aspiration pneumonia. Individual(s) covering this staffing need must have annual proof of TB & Titers. Annual HIPAA, Privacy, Cybersecurity training will be given at VA, and VA e-fingerprint will be done prior to start of work. Privileging of anyone working under the contract will be done at VA San Diego upon selection. *If you can provide this coverage, please email me kathleen.randall@med.va.gov with pertinent information so I may present and discuss with the department at San Diego VA. Any price quote provided from this announcement will be recognized as "Only Estimated" until a firm RFP can be submitted by VA. The Government contemplates awarding of an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from any future solicitation. The contract period is expected to consist of a 12 month base period with four 12 month option periods for renewal. This Sources Sought Notice is being used to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site.
