Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY FOR PLANNING PURPOSES. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION DRAWING PACKAGE AVAILABLE. This is a request for information only as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wants to obtain information on commercially available Aircraft Servicing Carts (ASC). Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Air Warfare Battlelab (AWB), Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, is planning to conduct a study that will evaluate commercial products that could solve the following problem: United States Air force units require servicing carts to test and maintain aircraft systems and controls. These carts are old and require a large corrosion control logistics trail. Parts are extremely hard to come by and often have to be made from scratch. The AWB is interested in commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products that could be used as-is or slightly modified to solve this problem. These attributes are desired requirements by the USAF: - Able to be set up and operated with limited training (please send users manual) - Made of composite or corrosion friendly materials (please send % of materials used) - A minimum of 3 gallon oil dispensing tank with 2.5 gallon recovery tank on same frame - 5 gallon hydraulic dispensing tank - Extreme durability and all-weather capability for field conditions - Capability to be prepped for shipment via air or ground (please send requirements) The AWB is seeking the following information from industry representatives: - Manufacturer suggested retail price and/or a schedule of lease pricing for the product - Cost of technical support or training needed to install and operate the equipment - Possible use of demo equipment at no cost to the Air Force Request information be submitted NO LATER THAN 16 Feb 07 to Major Cathy Blacklock, Air Warfare Battlelab, 360 Gunfighter Ave, Suite 1, Mountain Home AFB, ID 83648 or cathy.blacklock@mountainhome.af.mil. Major Blacklock can be reached at (208) 828-3542. A formal solicitation MAY NOT BE ISSUED as a result of this RFI. Information provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The USAF will not release any information ? marked with a Proprietary legend ? received in response to this RFI to any firms, agencies, or individuals outside the USAF without written permission in accordance with the legend.
