Description
The U.S. Air Force is seeking sources that may be interested in participating in a potential acquisition for Personal Services in the near future. This Personal Services requirement is for a Endocrinologist. The following is a brief summary of the primary duties that the Endocrinologist would be required to perform under a resultant. This list is not all inclusive: The Endocrinologist will: Comprehensively evaluate new patients seen by the endocrine fellows in order to diagnose and treat endocrine and metabolic disorders. Engage in clinical investigation of endocrinologic problems with the goal of publishing research in peer review journals. Provide advanced educational support and teaching in internal medicine and endocrinology to medical trainees attending formal lectures, rounds, and clinics. Support the fellowship training program through supervision and teaching of endocrinology fellows. Qualifications. The Endocrinologist shall meet the following qualification requirements: Education: The Endocrinologist shall be educated in adult endocrinology and have graduated in good standing from an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) certified endocrine fellowship training program. Experience: The Endocrinologist shall have at least two (2) years of experience within the last four (4) years in adult endocrinology. Prefer a Endocrinologist with experience in endocrine fellowship training programs. Research: The Endocrinologist shall have at least one (1) publication in a peer review journal within the past two (2) years or have a manuscript ready for publication. Skills and Knowledge: The Endocrinologist shall possess a fund of knowledge in adult endocrinology adequate enough to educate first and second year endocrine fellows. Location: These services would be performed at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB (San Antonio) TX.
