Description
NSN 7R-1660-01-232-9009-GF, Ref Nr 581890-4-2, Qty 1200, Delivery FOB Destination--The Naval Inventory Control Point will be soliciting a proposal for Total Logistics Support (TLS) of Turbines, Evaporators (12 Ton and 15 Ton), Air Flow Multipliers. These items are used on the F/A-18A/B/C/D, P-3 and E2C aircraft in operation by the Navy and Marine Corps. TLS is a process whereby the awardee provisions, stocks, repairs, and/or replaces, stores, and ships serviceable ready-for-issue equipment directly to the end user within guaranteed delivery timeframes. TLS also requires the awardee to provide an integrated product life cycle approach whereby the awardee assumes responsibility for many management and support functions previously performed by the Government, including 1) modification and upgrade, 2)engineering and logistics support, 3)configuration management, 4)material management, including furnishing consumable piece parts, 5)maintenance of source data packages to acc ount for technical changes. The contract will incentivize the awardee to provide commercial technology insertion through a requirement to improve reliability of these components. TLS of said components is premised on a teaming relationship between the awardee, Caterpillar Logistics Services, and Naval Avaition Depots Cherry Point, NC and Jacksonville, FL. The resultant Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract will be a Requirements contract consisting of one 5 year base, with one 5 year option. Due to the unique nature of the TLS process for above mentioned items, only Honeywell International, Inc. which is providing TLS of APU systems on P-3, S-3, C-2, F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F and Navy C-130 aircraft under an existing PBL contract with the Navy, (N00383-00-D-007J) will be solicited., See Note 22, See Note 22*****
