- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) intends to procure seven Combat Convoy Simulators (CCS). The simulator shall be utilized to provide an immersive training environment for convoy operations to include basic procedures for driver, gunner, and passengers including but not limited to weapons usage and target engagement, driver evasive action, command and control procedures within the vehicle and convoy, and general familiarity with terrain/environment to provide training for Marines in tactical scenarios, related to combat operations. The CCS shall provide training for both vehicle operators and individuals in both vehicle and small arms weapon utilization, command and control, and improvised explosive device countermeasures. The CCS shall be utilized to provide an immersive training environment for convoy operations to include re-supply, patrol, logistics support, high value target extraction, medevac, call for close air ! support, call for fire. The CCS shall provide training for convoy tactics, techniques, procedures and use of weapons in compliance with the Rules of Engagement (ROE). The CCS shall consist of six student stations and one instructor/operator station. The CCS shall provide training for both vehicle operators and individuals in both vehicle and small arms weapon utilization, command and control, improvised explosive device attacks, response, and countermeasures. The CCS shall provide training for the Marines to react to ambush attacks, conduct Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) The CCS shall provide virtual training environments utilizing generic and geo specific terrain databases. The government's intent is to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) at the end of Jan 2007 and award a contract in April 2007. The CCS information above is subject to change. All vendors with an appropriate product relating to the above description are invited to submit a Capability Statement. Capability Statements should discuss the products capabilities against potential requirements, the products system requirements, and any other relevant information that would enhance the Government's understanding of the information submitted. Interested and qualified parties are invited to provide comments and questions. This request for information in no way implies either implicitly or explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the US G! overnment for information or materials provided. It does not constitute a solicitation and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract.
