Description
This is a sources sought synopsis (not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5). The Headquarters Air Force Security Forces Center, Force Protection Commodity Council (FPCC), is seeking potential sources to provide commercial-off-the-shelf security guard/police uniform items. This notice is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an invitation for bid nor request for proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this survey. The information you provide may be used by the Government in developing an acquisition strategy and purchase description. Industry is encouraged to respond with information not constrained by proprietary data rights. However, if proprietary data is included in your reply, please mark appropriately. The following is a brief description of uniform items currently used by contracted security guards at several Air Force installations: Standard Uniform - 1) French blue shirts, long or short sleeve, 2) Navy trousers, 1? French blue braided stripe down each leg, 3) Navy clip-on tie worn with the long sleeve shirt, 4) Black pants belt, subdued color buckle to match uniform, 5) Navy baseball cap, and 6) Black boots or shoes. Inclement Weather Uniform ? 1) Navy bomber jacket, 2) Navy or black watch cap or balaclava, 3) Navy parka, 4) Black cold weather coverall, 5) Black or navy Gortex parka and pants, 6) Black gloves, 7) Black cold weather boots, and 8) Black or navy rain coat, headgear and footwear. The following information is requested: 1. What are the standard sizes for the above listed items? 2. What are the standard colors? 3. Are the uniforms available in fade resistant material? 4. How does industry determine high quality products? 5. Are there industry standards? If so, what are the standards? 6. What specification (purchase description) is required for industry to submit a proposal? 7. What is your ordering process? 8. What is the average shipping/delivery time? 9. What is the average backorder time? 10. What are the procedures used to return defective items? 11. How do you ensure/measure customer satisfaction? 12. How do you fulfill orders for employees hard to fit (e.g., unique sizes)? 13. Is there an additional cost for unique sizes (other than standard sizes)? 14. What is the warranty period? 15. Do you stock items or have items shipped directly from the manufacturer, distributor? 16. Are you a manufacture, distributor, or retailer? 17. Do you have an internet web-based procurement system (including catalog, price list, ordering procedures)? 18. Have you done business with the government? 19. Do you have or had a federal government contract (i.e., GSA, IDIQ, BPA, etc.)? 20. Responses should contain Company Name, Address, Point of Contact, Cage Code, Phone Number, Fax Number, and Size of Business. 21. If available, please send your catalog (to include pictures of your product) and pricelist. The purpose of this request for information is to determine the capability of potential sources and the availability of commercial sources pursuant to FAR Part 10. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost incurred for their participation in this request for information. Contractors are encouraged to provide submittals electronically. Electronic responses shall be submitted in MS Word or Adobe PDF format. Please submit your response not later than 2 Apr 07, 4:00 p.m. (CST).
