- The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Base Building Refurbishment Project at Willow Run Airport, Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment in accordance with the contract provisions, specifications and drawings included herein. The work shall include, but not limited to, the following: EXTERIOR 1. Remove small trees, grade, furnish and install smoking shelter on a concrete pad and electrical service adjacent to tower. 2. Re-wire septic pump. 3. Re-caulk 1 window on NE side. 4. Furnish and Install new mud grate at Entry #2. 5. Repair concrete sidewalk at Entry #2. 6. Furnish and Install 8'x 15' concrete or steel ramp to equipment shed. 7. Furnish and Install 5 new light heads (400W high-pressure sodium) on exterior lamp poles. 8. Furnish and install security light to Entry #1 to illuminate guests at door. 9. Caulk existing louvers. Furnish and install sheet metal hoods to cover HVAC unit vents on floors 2, 3, 4, and 5. PARKING LOT 10. Remove 3-inch thickness of the existing wearing coarse of the bituminous concrete pavement. 11. Seal cracks found in the base course of the bituminous concrete pavement. 12. Install a new wearing course composed of hot mix asphalt compacted to a final thickness of 3-inches. 13. Mark parking stalls as delineated on project drawings. 14. Provide handicap ramp as indicated. BASE BUILDING ROOF 15. The Contractor, at the direction of the FAA Resident Engineer, shall repair and prepare existing roofing material, in order to allow the installation of the Ultra Shield White Roof Coating roofing system. Dropping debris over the edge into an open hopper shall not be allowed. Prior to re-installment by the Contractor, the FAA Resident Engineer must approve the re-use of materials. AF OFFICE IN BASE BUILDING 16. Patch hole in wall. 17. Furnish and Install new wear-resistant carpet throughout. EQUIPMENT ROOM 18. Furnish and Install additional rubber 3'x5' ESD mats as directed by personnel. 19. Paint as required. BASE BUILDING LOBBY 20. Re-paint walls as required. Existing wall murals are to be preserved. 21. Furnish and Install new wear-resistant carpet throughout. BASE BUILDING BATHROOMS 22. Remove existing, Furnish and Install upgraded exhaust fan to higher flow model. AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER - NATCA OFFICE - 3RD FLOOR 23. Re-paint drywall. 24. Furnish and Install new carpet throughout. 25. Remove existing HVAC unit, Furnish and Install GE 1VG77 unit SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE - 4TH FLOOR 26. Re-paint drywall 27. Furnish and Install new carpet throughout. 28. Furnish and Install new blinds. 29. Remove existing HVAC unit, Furnish and Install GE 1VG77 unit LOCKER ROOM - 5TH FLOOR 30. Remove candy vending machine 31. Re-paint drywall. 32. Remove existing HVAC unit, Furnish and Install GE 1VG77 unit BREAK ROOM - 6TH FLOOR 33. Furnish and Install new carpet throughout 34. Re-paint drywall 35. Remove existing HVAC unit, Furnish and Install GE 1VG77 unit 36. Repair kitchen faucet. 37. Furnish and Install blinds. 38. Repair door closer. 39. Repair window. STAIRWELL 40. Re-paint walls. 41. Re-paint handrail. ATCT CAB - 7TH FLOOR 42. Replace drop down ladder with sliding model 43. Remove existing, Furnish and Install Upgrade lighting (general and track). 44. Install dimmer controls on general lighting. Install new track lighting units as directed. 45. Furnish and Install new 54" ceiling fan. 46. Furnish and Install two (2) GFI outlets in NE corner. Route new cables from breaker panel. 47. Re-paint consoles beige/cr??me color 48. Furnish and Install new hinge and gasket on roof access hatch. TOWER BATHROOM 49. Re-paint walls. 50. Clean tile grout. 51. Replace light fixture. 52. Remove existing, Furnish and Install upgraded exhaust fan to higher flow model. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Contract performance time is 30 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of project is April 30, 2007. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. NAICS is 237990. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT. THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE FURNISHED TO THE FIRST FIFTEEN GENERAL CONTRACTORS WHO RESPOND TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. General contractors must submit their interest in subject project on letterhead and include the firm's name, address, phone number, fax number, and point of contact bu no later than March 21, 2007, 2:00 p.m. (CT).
