Description
This is not a request for proposals (RFPs). This announcement only constitutes a synopsis of the future release of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Headquarters (NAVFACHQ) solicitation number N00025-07-R-0003 for the manufacture of a complete system that consists of a series of 3 (three) carts which can be coupled together to complete the MLTS. The MLTS will be used to transit various types of watercraft into and out of the existing blasting and painting facility on rails installed when the facility was constructed (at the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Norfolk, VA). It is anticipated that the Government will award a Firm Fixed Price contract for a base year only. The requirement consists of the manufacture and delivery of 2 MLTS systems (consisting of 3 carts each plus connecting hardware), technical data, spare and repair parts, and familiarization training. For this requirement, the contractor shall provide all labor, support activities, and materials to manufacture, procure, inspect, test, mark, and deliver all components of the MLTS system. The contractor shall also provide the facilities and services necessary to perform the requirements of this contract. This requirement is unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification System code for this requirement is 336510 (Railroad cars and car equipment manufacturing), with a size standard of 1,000 employees. This is not an invitation for bids and the information presented in this announcement will not obligate the Government in any manner. Solicitation N00025-07-R-0003 will be made available to interested parties on or about 2 April 2007 and can be downloaded from https://www.esol.navfac.navy.mil.
