Description

The National Park Service has a firm requirement for the Hazard Tree Removal Services at Gulf Islands National Seashore, Davis Bayou Area, in Ocean Springs, Jackson County, Mississippi. The proposed acquistion is set-aside for eligible Small Business HUBZone concerns (see Number Note 27). The applicable NAICS Code is 113310 and Size Standard is 500 employees. . PROJECT TITLE: Hazard Tree Removal PMIS118685 . PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work calls for all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision necessary to remove and dispose of 890 (eight hundred ninety) dead or dying trees along roadways, trails and near facilities. Species include Pine, Oak, and Cedar. Sizes (measured at DBH) ranges between 4 and 36 inches. Major tasks include, but not necessarily limited to: 1.) Fell and buck approximately 800 hazard trees; 2.) Top, limb and buck approximately 90 hazard trees; 3.) Load, haul, and dispose of all debris in an approved dump site; . ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE is between $250,000 to $500,000. . PROCUREMENT METHOD: Seald bidding procedures IAW FAR Part 14 and 37. . BID OPENING is scheduled on or about May 2, 2007. . CONTRACT TYPE is Firm-fixed Price (FFP). . CONTRACT AWARD will be made to the low responsive/responsible bidder (IAW FAR 9.1 and 14.4 procedures). . NOTICE TO PROCEED (NTP) to be issued on or about May 21, 2007 . PROJECT DURATION is Forty-five (45) calendar days after NTP. NOTES: 1). Access to job site in some wooded areas will be limited to foot traffic only. No vehicles allowed off paved roads/harden trails. 2.) Bid Guarantee, Bonding, and Insurance will be required. 3.) Contractor will be responsible for obtaining any and all necessary permits, license, etc. to perform the work. 4.) Safety is paramount; requisite safety plan must meet all applicable OSHA requirements. 5.) Close coordination with Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) during each phase will be required. Invitation For Bid (IFB) Number I5320070053 is set for public release on or about April 2, 2007.
