- Scope Definition The RCCC Subcontract for ERDF expansion will require the construction of up to 4 disposal cells on the Hanford Site. Construction services may include, but not limited to: 1) Civil Work (grubbing, clearing, excavation, loading, hauling, backfill, grading, compacting, paving, etc.) 2) Land Surveying 3) Road installation and construction 4) Electrical 5) Mechanical 6) Mobilization of construction facilities, equipment and personnel 7) Bentonite clay/soil admix manufacture and installation 8) Landfill liner (admix, geomembranes, geotextiles) procurement, installation, and testing work 9) Pipe installation (below & above ground) for leachate collection systems 10) Documentation (testing/installation records, work control, operation & maintenance manuals, etc.) Work activities include but are not limited to: ? Mobilization (design, submittal preparation and approval, training, facility/equipment mobilization, establish workforce, etc.) ? Providing equipment and materials ? Coordination with communication as needed (WCH and other onsite contractors and subcontractors) ? Engineering design and planning services (work control, procedures, O&M manuals, reports, testing, etc.) ? Safety and Health Program (Integrated Safety Management System and integrated work control) ? Quality Control ? Procurement activities (material certification, compliance with specifications, quality control, etc.) ? Craft employment, training, qualification, supervision, and management ? Procedure/work documentation generation, maintenance, and integrated work control ? Equipment Management o Provide and maintain equipment (dozers/loaders, dump trucks and dump trailers, consumables, water trucks, grader, compactor, compactions equipment, testing equipment, etc.) ? Demobilization The Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility (ERDF) is designed to be an engineered disposal facility for low-level and mixed waste produced during environmental remediation of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) past-practice units at the Hanford Site. A subcontract is planned to be issued for construction of up to 4 additional cells. Each cell is approximately 500? X 500? X 70?. The cells have primary and secondary leachate collections systems, admix layer (bentonite clay/soil), and primary, secondary geomembrane liners, drainage layers, etc. The scheduled completion of cells 7 and 8 (e.g. ready to received waste) is 12/08 Please see the prequalification questionnaire at http://www.washingtonclosure.com/procure/90-day.html.
