Description
The VA's Northwest Health Network (VISN 20) includes all of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. VISN 20 anticipates issuing a solicitation for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Telehealth Equipment (TE) services for the entire Northwest Network in about 2-3 months. The anticipated contract will include a base year, and 4 one-year option periods. The solicitation will likely allow for multiple awards in case we cannot find one qualified vendor to service the entire network. It is anticipated that the procurement will be set-aside for small business (as defined by the Small Business Administration). VISN 20 is seeking responses from potential vendors that are small businesses. ONLY FULLY QUALIFIED VENDORS NEED RESPOND TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. Qualified vendors would be able to service the entire geographic area of VISN 20 (or significant portions thereof), be able to perform the work in accordance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards, and be able to handle multiple, simultaneous orders for delivery or pick-up within the contractually required delivery and pick-up times. The estimated number of round trips (deliver equipment, then pick-up at a later date) is 1,800 for the entire VISN 20 Network over 5 years. SPECIFIC CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS. The contractor(s) will be required to deliver government-furnished DME and TE to the residences of VA patients anywhere within VISN 20 within 3 working days of receipt of order (or sooner), set-up the DME & TE, provide instructions for use of DME & TE, maintain the DME & TE, repair the DME & TE (when necessary), pick-up the DME & TE within 3 working days of receipt of order (or sooner), and return the DME &TE to the VA or a contractor-owned warehouse.
