- The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a sole source award to The University of Georgia Research Foundation Inc research on Mycobacterium avium ssp. paratuberculosis (MAP), in accordance with FAR 13. It is anticipated that the award will be made for a one-year contract period. WORK TO BE PERFORMED: The contractor will collaborate with CFSAN to design an appropriate protocol; purchase and maintain for a period of up to 4 months C57BL/6 IL 10 knock-out mice; Grow up MAP from available stock cultures and prepare innovula of living and heat-killed, sonicated MAP; Provide supplies, reagents, laboratory animal, microbiologic, immunologic, and histopathologic support necessary to conduct the experiments in collaboration with CFSAN staff; and under FDA guidance and with FDA collaboration, draft a report of the results suitable for submission to a peer-reviewed biomedical journal. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading the solicitation and amendments. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website (http://fedbizopps.gov) for the release of the any amendments. Hard copies will be provided to individuals eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Rehabilitation Act upon request. The proposed award are for services for which the Government intents to solicit and negotiation with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice is issued for information purposes and not a request for competitive proposals. Any interested party should submit a statement of capabilities in sufficient detail to determine if the requirements of this synopsis can be met, no later than 15 days from the date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contracts based on responses from this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
