Description: The solicitation for this project will be posted on or about April 23, 2007 with quotes due on May 23, 2007. The project requires lookout services for the Tower Mountain and Desolation Butte Lookouts on the North Fork John Day Ranger District and the Madison Butte Lookout on the Heppner Ranger District. The work shall consist of detecting and reporting smokes or fires within and adjacent to the Umatilla National Forest; monitoring and relaying radio messages; observing and reporting the weather, i.e., thunderstorms, and taking weather readings when requested. The Government may require lookout services 7 days per week, 9 hours per day. The contract performance period is June through October 2007 with option years 2008 and 2009.
