Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENT. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an annoucement of a forthcoming solicitation. The Government is seeking information concerning the availabil ity of capable contractors to provide a Modular Live Fire Shoot House. The shoot house must include at a minimum four rooms, each 10 feet x 10 feet and a hallway 4 feet wide. The house must be modular and expandable through the addition of interlocking m odules, expansion upwards 2 or 3 stories, and capable of adding interior and/or exterior stair clearing towers. An observation catwalk with exterior stairs is also required to provide safety oversight. Each ballistic wall and floor will consist of a steel plate and clad with vulcanized ballistic rubber panels for maximum safety.Ballistic protected walls (both interior and exterior) and flooring must be capable of stopping 5.56 and 7.62 mm high velocity a mmunition at close range. The ballistic rubber panels must be vulcanized for increased density which reseals itself when punctured by projectiles. Supporting evidence must be furnished in SUFFICIENT detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the req uirements listed above. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This sources sought notice should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such a procurement. The Directorate of Contracting (DOC), F t. Carson is interested in obtaining responses from prospective contractors, but no contractor will be reimbursed for providing this information, therefore DOC-Ft. Carson will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All informa tion provided shall become property of the U.S. Army and will not be returned. Responses are requested by 4:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on April 27, 2007. Responses shall include a point of contact, contact phone number, and email address.
