Description
REQUIREMENT: General Services Administration is interested in leasing approximately 3,990 rentable square feet which will produce approximately 3,450 BOMA usable square feet for the Veterans Benefit Administration. Onsite parking is required in accordance with local city codes with no additional cost to the government and 3 parking spaces are to be assigned for official use. The need for this space is directly related to VA?s Strategic Goal One: Restore the capability of veterans with disabilities to the greatest benefit possible and improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families. The Veterans administration objective is to provide eligible service-connected disabled veterans with an opportunity to become employable and obtain and maintain employment while the VA delivers special support to these veterans with serious employment handicaps. LEASE TERM: 10 years, 5 years firm. UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS: All space must be contiguous on one floor and have highly refined ADA requirements. Veterans? access to VR&E information and benefits is critical to the success of the program which requires a close relationship between VA personnel and veterans, almost always involving face-to-face contact. This relationship hinges on veterans having easy and improved access to VA personnel. This office will serve a population of 55,000 veterans. Locating the counselors close to the veteran population minimizes travel for veterans to obtain services leading to their successful employment. It has been our experience that a higher percentage of veterans appear for appointments when access to services is convenient and nearby. LOCATION: Offered properties must be located within the city limits. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: 1) Building name and address 2) Square footage offered 3) Method of Measurement used to determine rentable square feet. 4) Name, address, and telephone number of individual to be contacted 5) Evidence of authority to represent the owner. AUTHORIZED CONTACTS: In no event shall the offer enter into negotiations concerning the space to be leased with representatives of Federal Agencies other than the officers and employees of General Services Administration.
