Description
Description: UPGRADE TG-131 (S/N 78140) TO THERMAX 300. DESC: The U.S. Department of Energy???s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis to the Thermo Electron Corporation for delivery to our site in Pittsburgh, PA for the following: 1. Upgrade TG-131 (S/N 78140 to TherMax 300. Upgrade to include installation of new chassis electronics, new cables with connectors, and software upgrade to WinTG 100 current standards. This request is considered to be sole source to the Thermo Electron Corporation because the instrument upgrade can only be provided by the original manufacturer of the equipment. Proprietary and custom parts are required to complete the required upgrade. Purchase of the upgrade must be purchased from the same company to ensure compatibility of physical components, to use the existing data acquisition system, and to ensure the best system for the research. It must be compatible with the operating conditions and software of the existing system. It must physically interface with the existing government equipment without modification that would void or limit the existing warrantee. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by this agency. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates the firm???s ability to provide the services or work described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. Interested parties shall provide sufficient technical literature, documents, etc., in order for the Government evaluation team to make an adequate technical assessment of the quote as meeting technical acceptability. All interested firms must respond to DE-RQ26-07NT000388 by 05:00 P.M. EST, April 26, 2007. Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAIC) is 334516. This award shall be made using FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
