- N21441-7095-0007 1.0 ABSTRACT: This item describes for the repair of Bridge/Pilothouse Windows. 2.0 REFERENCES/ENCLOSURES 2.1 INTECH MARINE condition report dated March 5, 2007. 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION 3.1 Location: a. Bridge Level Pilot House Windows; all. 3.2 Quantity/Description/Manufacturer Data: Total of 39 windows. 8 are open windows with dogs. 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None 5.0 NOTES: 5.1 For electrical repairs use INTECH Condition Report dated March 5, 2007. 5.2 It is recommended that each window be removed, repaired and reinstalled individually; one or two at a time to avoid confusion. 5.3 Ensure not to disturb the window wipers. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED 7.1 Temporarily remove all heaters and disconnect the clear view windows. Individually remove all windows; remove frames from superstructure. 7.1.1 Temporarily cover windows, ensure the bridge is protected from the weather. 7.2 Remove all old calking material, machine clean the steal frames around the windows and super structure to SSPC SP3 standards. Renew the gasket material around the dogged windows. Clean, prime and paint the disturbed areas to match existing. All paint is GFM. 7.3 Clean the window glass. Reinstall/reseal the window glass and frames with new high grade sealant designed for windows and marine use. Reinstall windows and frames. Use all new fasteners, same size and material as original. 7.4 Electrical repairs: Using ref. 2.1, repair and replace the heaters as per the condition report. Use a recognized marine electrical contractor to accomplish the entire electrical repair. 7.5 Perform a hose test to the satisfaction the attending MSC representative. 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None Additional
