Description
NASA/MSFC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Laser Engraving/Cutting Machines. The Dynamics Testing Branch (ET40) of Marshall Space Flight Center/NASA is requesting information about products available on the market in the area of Laser Engraving/Cutting Machines. The required salient features are as follows. ? Totally enclosed laser for safety. ? Air cooling system which can be vented into room in which machine is located. The air system will have the necessary filtration to allow all of the machine exhaust air to be vented into a room with the operator and other personnel. ? Unit will include a low power pointer to allow the operator to align work pieces. ? Capable of engraving pieces up to 40? x 22? x 6?. ? Resolution up to 1000 Dots Per Inch. ? Standard print port and USB interface. ? Use images as engraving/cutting templates. ? System will have a laser power source of at least 60 watts and will be capable of cutting through 5/8? thick acrylic material in one pass. The laser power be variable from 1-100%. ? Unit will feature auto focusing of the cutting laser. ? Unit will be supplied with all components necessary for operation such as lenses, blowers, filters, software, air compressor, etc. Minor operator assembly is permissible but any major system assembly or calibration required will be done by the vendor. ? Unit will be capable of 3D engraving operations such as rubber stamp engraving. Any required software for this feature will be included. ? The unit will include a vacuum table suitable for cutting operations on thin rubber or vinyl stencil sheet. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; and point of contact - address and phone number). Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto.
