Description
The FAA New England Region has a new construction effort to furnish all labor, material, supplies, and equipment (except for specified FAA furnished materials) for the removal of the old platforms and installation of eleven (11) new platforms for the Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (MALSR) serving Runway 17, at Edward F. Knapp State Airport in Barre, VT. All work shall be in accordance with the attached Technical Specifications and Drawings. The performance period is thirty (30) calendar days. This project is a 100% set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238120 with a size standard of $13M. Contractor must have successfully completed similar projects both in dollar amount and scope. The Request for Offer, including Technical Specifications, Drawings, and Wage Rates, are attached to this announcement. All documents are available in Word and Drawings are available in .pdf format and may be viewed with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard or Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional. The price range is $100,000 to $250,000. Performance and Payment bonds are required. A site visit will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. All Offerors attending site visit must contact Henry Newcomb at 978-886-1267 at least 24 hours before site visit. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
