Description
Asset Management System The Department of the Interior, Office of Inspector General is seeking a web enabled asset management system capable of advanced asset tracking with a robust capture and reporting capability for historical record keeping. The system should maintain as historical records the complete life cycle of the asset item. The system should be able to provide for automatic bar coding, inventory reconciliation, and asset tracking from initial acquisition to final disposition. The system must have the capability to track current location, transfer, disposal, cost records, user interface, bar code functions, import and export capability, network capability, multi-user functions, query, reporting, and custom reporting capabilities. Security enhancements must be available, and there should be different access levels for viewing and editing asset information based on user location and authority. The system must be capable of generating customized reports, both standard and ad hoc. Asset fields will be populated at time of initial asset identification and should include the following elements as a minimum: description of item, make, model, manufacturer, acquisition date, cost, unit of issue, and current status, etc. As an option, the system should be capable of incorporating RFI technology. This web enabled system must be capable of simultaneous use by an unlimited number of users without requiring any special client software installed at the user locations. The software must be integrated with portable handheld bar code scanners. Handheld units will track items as they are scanned or keyed into the system. Keyed items should have the capability to be added to the inventory automatically.
