Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a sole-source contract modification with AAR Cadillac, MI for the production of nineteen (19) International Standards Organization Mobile Expandable Container Configuration (MECC) shelter to provide a reliable, environmentally controlled facility for the execution of a variety of activities including M777A1 and EFSS repairs, and rebuild sec reps., pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The intent to award the contract to this vendor will enable the Marine Corps to maintain the highest level of efficiency and continuity of shelter configuration for both parts and logistics purposes given the inventory currently in use. The MECC Shelter System will consist of a basic expandable soft-sided shelter, and a modified Engineering Equipment (EE) trailer (being procured separately), transported by the MTVR. This basic shelter itself, currently in use by both I and II MEF, will be integrated with tailored storage shelves and cabinets to allow for storage and use of Shop Set, Equipment, Artillery Shelter . The shelter will be usable either deployed or removed from the trailer and leveled as required. This Shop Set, Equipment, Artillery Shelter System mobility enhancement will increase the ability of the maintainers to follow in trace behind the M777A2 and EFSS. The system substantially improves battlefield mobility, and therefore increases the ability to repair and return M777A2 and EFSS to service. Performance will take place at the Contractors Facility. The period of performance is anticipated to be from 30 June 2007 through 31 December 2008, with an estimated cost not to exceed $115K per unit.
