Description

The sites of the required work are any facility at any built-up or range area on Fort Riley, Kansas. Required work includes the principal features described below. The outline of principal features does not limit the responsibility of the Contractor to furnish all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and transportation and perform all work required by the plans and specifications. Most buildings will be occupied during the course of the work and the Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating his work with building occupants. Professionally trim and prune vegetation as necessary to accomplish the required work. Protect furnishings and other specified items not to be repaired, replaced, and painted from the effects of repair, replacement, surface p reparation, and painting operations. Protect employees, building occupants, and the environment from asbestos and lead contamination. Perform asbestos hazard control and lead hazard control in accordance with Kansas and Federal laws and regulations. Repai r and replace all types of siding; soffits; fasciae; exposed rafter tails; cornices; porch ceilings, decks and balustrades; columns and brackets; stair stringers, treads, risers, and railings; miscellaneous moulding, millwork and trim; and other carpentry related items. Repair, align, rehang, and replace gutters, downspouts, and miscellaneous sheet metal items. Replace calking at doors; windows; concrete, masonry and wood joints; wall penetrations; and expansion and control joints. Costs for replacement of calking and sealant shall be included in the Contractor's lump sum price for painting each building. Repair and replace all types of doors, frames, and thresholds. Repair and replace all types of window sashes, frames, and sills. Repair and replace insect screens on doors, windows, and screened-in spaces. Replace broken glazing and deteriorated glazing compound in all types of doors and windows. Replace all types of builders' hardware on doors and windows. Perform surface preparation on surfaces to be pain ted. Apply a seal coat to surfaces specified to receive a seal coat. Apply a prime coat to surfaces specified to receive a prime coat. Apply the number of finish coats specified to all surfaces to be painted. Additional finish coats shall be applied as re quired to achieve complete hiding at no additional cost to the Government. Maintain buildings and surrounding grounds in clean, orderly, and safe condition during the course of the work, and perform final cleanup including all paint splatters, debris and p aint and waste containers upon completion of the required work at each building. Dispose of waste and construction debris. The required work is in various areas of Fort Riley, Kansas 66442. Proposed contract will be a firm fixed price requirements type contract. A sealed bid will be issued on or about 14 May 2007. This is the earliest date the solicitation will be available . The estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 (see FAR 36.204). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238320. Procurement acquisition will be solicited unrestricted in accordance with Public Law 100-656.
