- Description
- Please be advised that the US Postal Service has traditionally contacted for mail transportation between US origins and destinations in the Caribbean by way of air. Due in part to cost concerns, the Postal Service is now interested in considering other transportation modes that may meet our volume and schedule requirements. The purpose of this notice is to assess the availability of such other transportation modes. It is important to note that mail is to be dispatched from, and returned to the US Postal Facility at the San Juan airport: Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU). Mail arrives to that Postal facility from the Continental United States for processing and subsequent tender to transportation suppliers service the islands listed above. Other non-US islands in the Caribbean will not be served under any contracts that may result from this notice.
