Description

U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Acquisition Center, Edgewood Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010-5424 intends to negotiate a delivery order to Contract W911SR-06-D-0001 with Smiths Detection, Edgew ood, MD, for the acquisition of five hundred sixty-four (564) M22 ACADAs on a sole source basis. The M22 is a COTS manportable chemical agent alarm system capable of detecting and identifying standard blister and nerve agents. The system provides countin ious monitoring, detection, identification warning and verification capabilities, and is a communications interface that supports battlefield automation systems. This effort is being solicited from Smiths Detection pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1), Only One R esponsible Source and no other supplies or services will immediately satisfy agency requirements, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Smiths Detection is the only responsible source with access to the proprietary data to the basic M22 ACADAs such as the Techn ical Data Package (TDP), Technical Manuals above the unit level, and the Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) above the unit level and is the only source capable of satisfactorily performing the effort required within required timeframes. The deliv ery period of performance for the proposed delivery order is on or before to 30 September 2007.
