- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Varian, Columbia, MD 21045, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each of the following items: 1) Maintenance contract on UI600-10920 NMR System. Provide parts & labor for corrective maintenance of complete Cold Probe System & probes, plus scheduled maintenance. Effective dates of service: 7/31/07-7/30/08. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Tanya Shields at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 5 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Varian. The NAICS Code/Size is 811219/6.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
