- Description
- This request for information is issued for the purpose of gathering information which will be used for market research planning purposes and in the compiling of technical and operational data for defining a potential Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or Non-Developmental Item (NDI) Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) Flight Line Tester system for use by the United States Air Force. This TACAN system is intended to be employed in a flight line environment to test all current Air Force airborne TACAN systems. The TACAN test set receives and generates all signals necessary to test TACAN airborne receivers and interrogators installed in the aircraft for correct performance. TACAN signal characteristics and tolerances are specified in MIL-STD-291C for all airborne and ground equipment. The equipment shall meet the explosive atmosphere requirements of MIL-STD-810F, METHOD 511.4, PROCEDURE I. Respondents to this RFI should provide a description of their equipment to include the following information: a. Physical description of the system, including weights and dimensions. b. System reliability based on actual usage (Mean Time Between Failures, Mean Time To Repair should be provided at a minimum)
