- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration?s (NASA) Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is soliciting information for the purposes of identifying potential contractors that provide fabrication and development for ground support equipment (GSE), test equipment, and other hardware necessary to process flight and associated hardware for a 5 year ordering period. Potential items include access, handling, electrical, servicing, simulator, or mock-up equipment. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. It is anticipated to be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for fabrication services for the following disciplines: 1. Mechanical GSE Fabrication, examples of which are: Water Servicing Panels, Hydraulic Systems, Umbilical Arms/Plates, Structural Supports, Lifting Frames, Launch Mounts, Hold-down Posts, Special Test Equipment, and Special Tools. 2. Fluids GSE Fabrication, examples of which are: Water Servicing Panels, Environmental Control Systems, Hypergolic Panels, Umbilical Arms/Plates, Pneumatic Panels, Cryogenic Skids, Cryogenic Control Panels, Special Test Equipment, and Special Tools. 3. Electrical GSE Fabrication, examples of which are: Cable manufacturing, Circuit Board manufacturing, and Rackmount Assemblies. It is anticipated contractors will propose on one or more GSE fabrication discipline specialty(ies). Awarded contractors will be placed in the appropriate GSE group (Mechanical, Electrical or Fluids) and Task Orders will be competed amongst the contract holders for the appropriate discipline. It is anticipated that the maximum aggregate IDIQ contract value will not exceed $400,000,000 with a minimum work guarantee of $5,000 per IDIQ contract. Multiple task orders may be awarded within the base and option years with concurrent performance. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336414 Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Manufacturing. This announcement is for informational purposes only to solicit information from potential sources. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for this requirement. You are requested to provide electronic responses (20 page maximum (including attachments) via e-mail to the primary Point of Contact(s) (POC) for this requirement. Indicate for which GSE disciplines you are submitting your capabilities. To facilitate a prompt review by the NASA team, a one (1) page summary shall be included with your capability statement(s), which identifies your company?s specific capabilities that are relevant to the requirement. Companies are also requested to provide their name, address, POC, average annual revenue for the past three years, number of employees, and your Government size/ type classification (Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-owned, Service Disabled Veteran, HUBZone, etc.) on the summary page. It is insufficient to provide only general brochures or generic information. Copies of your capability statement(s) may be made available to this requirement?s Prime Contractor competitors in the future and should therefore not contain company-sensitive information. KSC is also interested in potential prime contractor feedback related to subcontracting opportunities, given the possibility this action is competed on an unrestricted basis. This feedback would be used as research information to support the analysis and development of subcontracting goals. This is not a solicitation announcement. This sources sought announcement is for planning purposes, it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor should it be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. It is requested that information in response to this RFI be submitted NO LATER THAN MAY 31, 2007.
